Catherine Hofmann received her LL.B. from the University of Toronto in 1991 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1992 and the Bar of British Columbia in 1993. Ms. Hofmann also graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2008, earning her LL.M. in environmental law. Ms. Hofmann recently joined Bernard and Partners as a member of the firm’s Corporate Commercial and Environmental law practice groups. Prior to that, she worked as an associate at Davis & Company practicing in the field of corporate/commercial and tax law. Ms. Hofmann currently provides general corporate advice to businesses and is effective in all aspects of file and client management including research, drafting, and negotiating.
Ms. Hofmann served on the Board of Directors of Defenders of Wildlife Canada from 2001 to 2008 and participated in the creation, charitable status registration and program development of the non-profit corporation.
Ms. Hofmann’s personal interests include skiing, running, golf and all manner of outdoor pursuits.

Participated in extensive corporate and individual tax planning, including estate freezes, trust creation and tax shelter development. |
Participated in complex litigation and tax appeals and worked extensively with outside counsel regarding case management and presentation. |
Drafting commercial and corporate documents, research memoranda, opinion letters, conference papers, and closing transactions. |
